Delhi Capitals skipper, Rishabh Pant will not play today’s IPL match after being suspended for one match for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct. His side maintained a slow over-rate during the match against Rajasthan Royals in Delhi on May 7. It was Pant’s third over-rate penalty this IPL. As a result, he will miss DC’s crucial fixture against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday.
Why is Rishabh Pant not playing?
Rishabh Pant violated the IPL code of conduct against RR on May 7. As a result, he won’t be participating in today’s IPL match. In the absence of Pant, all-rounder Axar Patel is set to lead Delhi Capitals against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Sunday.
Apart from the suspension Pant has also been fined INR 30 lakh. DC are among the eight teams fighting for playoffs qualification. The Capitals will need to win their remaining fixtures and have other results go their way to be in contention for the IPL 2024 playoffs. As mentioned above, DC will take on RCB on May 12 (Sunday) at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
