MI vs KKR revised schedule: Powerplay reduced & one bowler allowed 4 overs after rain delay

This is the Kolkata Knight Riders last home match, and if they win today, they'll become the first team to qualify for the playoffs.

After nearly a 2-hour rain delay, the MI vs KKR match is going to start. To ensure the game ends on time, the schedule for the encounter has been revised. Winning the toss, the Mumbai Indians decided to put the home side, the Kolkata Knight Riders, in.

Batting first, KKR will bat 16 overs in the first inning. The powerplay has been reduced from 6 to 5 overs, and only one bowler is allowed to bowl their full quota (4 overs). The remaining 12 overs can be bowled by four bowlers, with one bowler getting a maximum of three overs.

MI vs KKR: Revised Schedule

  • 16 overs per side
  • 1 bowler can bowl 4 overs
  • 4 bowlers can bowl 3 overs
  • Powerplay overs (1-5)

IPL 2024

Qualification on the line for KKR

Already at the top of the points table, a win would secure the Kolkata Knight Riders’ place in the IPL 2024 Playoffs. That means that irrespective of the result of the next two matches, the Shreyas Iyer-led side will make it through to the final four. However, if they don’t win the KKR vs MI match, they’ll need to win one more game to make the playoffs.
