The biggest positive for CSK is surely their new captain. After MS Dhoni hung up their captaincy boots, Gaikwad smoothly appreciated the CSK captaincy. As mentioned, the team is doing exceptionally well under him, and team is still in the playoff race.
Apart from his captaincy skills, he is also performing magic with his batting. In 12 matches, he has scored 541 runs with a strike rate of 146, putting him in the second spot on the leading run-scorer list. Looking at the scenario, he is surely a big positive for CSK.
Shivam Dube, the stroke player!
The next on the list is Shivam Dube, and it’s fair to say that his current IPL performance is the main reason he got into the T20 World Cup squad for India.
He has been a valuable asset for the squad without question, coming at the top of the order and showing his power-hitting abilities that are truly incredible. With 371 runs in 12 games and a wonderful strike rate of 170, he has impressed everyone. It’s also a fact that he hasn’t bowled yet, but his batting is impressive to date. Pathirana, the wicket-taking bowler
Matheesha Pathirana is one more wonderful thing that happened to the Chennai franchise. Although, unfortunately, he had to be ruled out of the ongoing IPL 2024 due to hamstring issue, looking at future editions, CSK will surely bet on him. He has played six matches this season for CSK, and in all these matches, it’s right to say that he performed magic every time with his bowling and impressive fielding.
Speaking about his numbers as a bowler, he has picked up 13 wickets in these six games with an amazing bowling economy of 7.68. With his Malinga-like bowling action, he has impressed everyone and is surely one more positive that the franchise can count on.
