Former Pakistani captain Rashid Latif has voiced his worries that internal problems have arisen within the Pakistan team as a result of Shaheen Afridi’s removal from the T20I captaincy. He comments come in the aftermath of Ireland defeating Babar Azam’s team in the IRE vs PAK 1st T20I in Dublin’s Clontarf Cricket Club.
Undercurrent in Pakistan camp?
“The bowling has been letting Pakistan down since the tour of New Zealand. Since removing Shaheen Afridi from the captaincy, problems could be seen,” he said on his YouTube channel.
Moreover, he stressed that Babar Azam showed his frailty once he took back the captaincy.

“Shaheen Afridi was removed wrongly from the captaincy and when Babar was reappointed, he showed his weakness. Whoever has handed him the captaincy will definitely use him. The team would be from outside, players will be selected by somebody else and every other decision would be taken by someone else, nothing will change in Pakistan here,” he added.
Babar blames bowling for loss
Pakistan and Ireland had only faced off once in the shorter format before, with the Green Shirts coming out on top. This was Ireland’s first win against Pakistan in T20 Internationals. Babar attributed the first T20I loss to subpar bowling and fielding, defending his team’s batting.
