Focus on cricket, not parties: Wasim Akram gives valuable advice to Prithvi Shaw

Prithvi Shaw's poor form in IPL 2024 continues, Wasim Akram has advised young Indian batter to focus more on cricket and less on parties

Prithvi Shaw’s emergence in India Cricket was like a breath of fresh air. However, the young batter soon vanished from the seen after a string on inconsistent performances. And now the Delhi Capitals batter has been slammed for his lack of scoring runs in IPL 2024. Pakistan great Wasim Akram has given him some crucial advise of focusing on cricket and not on parties.

“I haven’t watched him closely this year, but he has to go back to basics, play first-class cricket and score big. Focus on cricket, not parties,” Akram told Sportskeeda.

Wasim Akram’s advice for Prithvi Shaw

IPL 2024 hasn’t been great for Prithvi Shaw. In his 8 matches for the Delhi Capitals he has managed to score just 198 runs with a strike rate of 164. But that is not enough for him. Amidst his on-going court case, Shaw’s head is not in the right place.

Wasim Akram has claimed that the young batter needs to focus on his game. He needs to work on his basics and play more and more of first class cricket. Akram claimed that Shaw shouldn’t indulge in any more parties.

“He has still got plenty of cricket in him, just go back and play first-class cricket. Get a lot of centuries and make a comeback. That’s the only way. There’s no shortcut. He has got time on his hands, and that’s good for him. He has to play regularly, and look at himself off the field. Do as many parties as you want after you retire, who cares. But now, focus on cricket,” Akram concluded.
