The last two venues of World Test Championship (WTC) Finals have been in England. But now BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has claimed that they have spoken with ICC to change the venue. After the first 2 finals, the third final, i.e the WTC 2025 will also be played in England.
“We have spoken to the ICC about it. They will consider changing the venue,” Jay Shah said.
Interestingly, India played both the finals back in 2021 and 2023. However, India lost out on both the occasions. But the BCCI has spoken with the ICC to change the venue of the WTC Finals. It remains to be seen if the finals would be held in June should a change in venue for the finals take place.

India in WTC Finals
So far India has managed to reach the WTC Finals on both occasions. They were handed a defeat by New Zealand back in 2021 at Southampton. And last year in 2023, the mighty Australians handed India their second finals defeat at the Oval.

As per the latest World Test Championship (WTC) standings, Rohit Sharma’s India occupies the top spot. This came after a comfortable 4-1 win at home against England, earlier in January. On the other hand, Australia occupies the second spot in the standings.
Unless there is any major change, both the sides will lock horns in the WTC Finals 2025 which is slated to take place at the Iconic Lord’s on June 2025.
