The cricketing fraternity was divided into two different halves when former Indian cricketer Parthiv Patel kicked up a storm on social media. Parthiv, taking to social media, named Glenn Maxwell as the most overrated cricketer in IPL’s history. His opinion met with a lot of reactions, some positive and largely negative. However, Parthiv, responding to his critics, replied with an epic picture of him holding the IPL trophy in MI colours.
Maxwell largely a flop in IPL
Australian batter Glenn Maxwell is having a dismal IPL 2024. He was largely out of form in the beginning of the tournament and asked to be dropped from the starting XI. Maxwell returned vs GT on Saturday, but could only score 4 runs from 3 balls before getting out. He averages just over 5 in IPL 2024, something that is not at all expected from an explosive batter like him. In IPL overall, Maxwell averages just over 25 which is far from his actual calibre and validates Parthiv’s comments to some extent.
Parthiv took to ‘X’ to voice his opinion about Maxwell being the most overrated player in IPL’s history. However, it was met with a lot of resistance (and some support). Some users replied with Maxwell holding the ODI World Cup trophy, implying that it was something Parthiv never won.

However, Parthiv was equal to the task, posting a picture of himself with the IPL trophy, something Maxwell has never won.
Now it remains to be seen if Maxwell joins the party and provides some kind of reply to Pathiv.
