‘I’m 200% sure’: Virat Kohli reveals he ‘would have been fooled’ if he was a business man

Virat Kohli has scored 500 runs in 10 games with an impressive average of 71.43 and a strike rate of 147.49 in IPL 2024

Indian cricket icon Virat Kohli is regarded as one of the greatest cricketers in the sport but the former Indian cricketer has made some strides in the business world as well and would have chosen it as a career as well. Kohli has smartly invested in startups like Rage Coffee, fitness centre Chisel, menswear brand WROGN, and the vegan meat brand Blue Tribe, often alongside his wife, Anushka Sharma. However, Kohli revealed that he wouldn’t have been nearly as good in the business as he is in cricket.

Businessman Virat Kohli?

In a recent event hosted by his IPL team, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Virat Kohli shared what he would have done if cricket hadn’t been his career path. He mentioned he would’ve ventured into business but admitted that he might have struggled without cricket as a backbone.

“If it was not cricket, then I would have gone into business, but if I had pursued business instead of cricket, I’m 200% sure I would have been fooled by people in the business world. Now I’m a bit better at business after getting beaten and betrayed in this field,” Kohli said candidly.

His words resonate with many young entrepreneurs who often face similar challenges when starting out in business. However, Kohli isn’t the only Indian cricketer to venture into business. Several members of Team India have explored business opportunities, using their fame and financial acumen to make strategic investments.

Virat Kohli’s stellar IPL 2024

On the cricket front, Virat Kohli is having a fantastic IPL season, scoring 500 runs in 10 games with an impressive average of 71.43 and a strike rate of 147.49. His form has been instrumental for RCB, and he has already scored four half-centuries and a century this season.

His strong performances have secured his place in the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup 2024, set to take place in the USA and West Indies. Initially, there were rumours that Kohli might be omitted, but his exceptional form in the IPL made it clear that he still has a lot to offer on the cricket field.

Kohli’s next appearance will be in a highly anticipated match against Gujarat Titans at Bengaluru’s M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. The clash will be crucial for RCB’s hopes of making the playoffs in IPL 2024/
