In a post-match interview, veteran spinner Piyush Chawla, Rohit Sharma’s teammate at MI, revealed the reason behind the former skipper’s absence. “He just had a mild back stiffness,” Chawla explained. “It was just a precautionary thing.”

As Mumbai Indians are all but out of IPL 2024 playoffs race, Rohit Sharma can now get much needed rest, if required for the remaining three IPL matches. Rohit Sharma has history of Back Issues
This is not the first time that Rohit Sharma is suffering from stuff back issue. In March this year, India captain Rohit Sharma suffered an injury scare on the Day 3 of the fifth and final Test of the series against England as he did not take the field. Rohit was diagnosed with a stiff back with the Indian cricket board (BCCI) confirming the news during the first session of the third day’s play at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala.
