The misery continues for Mumbai Indians (MI) after their four-wicket defeat at the hands of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Tuesday. Adding insult to injury, their captain, Hardik Pandya, has been slapped with a hefty fine by the BCCI for breaching the IPL’s Code of Conduct.
Slow over-rate costs Hardik Pandya dear
The BCCI, in an official statement released on May 1st, confirmed that Hardik Pandya has been fined a whopping Rs 24 lakh (approximately $30,000) for maintaining a slow over-rate during their match against LSG. This marks MI’s second such offense this season, resulting in a harsher penalty for the captain.
Rest of MI playing XI Feel the Pinch
The remaining members of Mumbai Indians (MI) playing eleven, including the designated impact player, were also not spared. Each player received a fine of either Rs 6 lakh (approximately $7,500) or 25% of their individual match fees, whichever is lower.
