The BCCI Senior Selection Committee on Tuesday selected India’s 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024. With names like Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah on the list, which was no surprise for Indian cricket fans as people were already anticipating these names. Although people were anticipating a few other star names, which we didn’t find on the list, that came as a surprise.
Who are those names who unfortunately did not get the ticket to play in the T20 World Cup for India? InsideSport presents to you the India Missing XI.

Unfortunate Rinku Singh!
In the list of 11 names, there is one that everyone thought would certainly make his way into the India 15-member squad and that name was Rinku Singh. He was snubbed by the BCCI selection committee as he was not on the 15-player list. Rinku will travel as a reserve player for India in this T20 World Cup 2024. In the past 2 years, Rinku Singh has been doing wonders for the national team and for KKR as well. In his short 15-match T20I career for India, he has scored more than 300 runs with a strike rate of 176.23.
Not just at the international level, but in the Indian Premier League as well, he is one of the key asset for the Kolkata Knight Riders. The kind of attacking ability he has, no one else has in the cricketing circuit, especially in the T20 format. Still, not selecting him certainly looks like a bad step by the BCCI.
Uncapped IPL stars also didn’t get their cuts
Emerging stars such as Shashank Singh and Abhishek Sharma, who are taking the IPL 2024 by storm, have also failed to stamp their names in the India T20 World Cup squad. Shashank Singh emerged as the impressive finisher for the Punjab Kings. And along with Rinku Singh, fans are also seeing Shashank as a potential finisher for India, but he is also off the list.
Abhishek Sharma, who is consistently performing well as an opener for Sunrisers Hyderabad and providing impressive starts by utilizing the six-over powerplay, is also out. In nine IPL matches, he has already scored 303 runs with a breathtaking strike rate of 214.89. With these stats, Abhishek’s name still not featuring in the list is nothing more than unfortunate.
