Tanvi Sharma, a 15-year-old playing in the match's final tie, put on perhaps the best performance of the match. Although she lost in straight sets, she fought tooth and nail against a much experienced opponent.

In their third and final Uber Cup 2024 group stage match, the Indian women’s badminton team fell to China 0–5 on Tuesday in Chengdu, China. However, the team qualified to the quarter-finals of the tournament in spite of the loss, sealing the second spot in Group A.

Isharani Baruah lost in straight games, 21-12, 21-10, to the current Olympic champion Chen Yufei in the first singles match.

In the women’s doubles, Chen Qing Chen and Jia Yi Fan, the silver medallists, presented a challenge to Shruti Mishra and Priya Konjengbam. In forty-five minutes, the Indian pair was defeated 21–13, 21–12.

Anmol Kharb, a 17-year-old who rose to prominence at the 2024 Badminton Asia Team Championships, retired in the second singles match against Han Yue, trailing 21-9, 4-1.

The second doubles and third singles were merely ceremonial as China had already won 3-0. Liu Sheng Shu and Tan Ning defeated Simran Singhi and Ritika Thaker 21-9, 21-10.
