India’s T20 World Cup 2024 squad loading soon, Ajit Agarkar reaches Delhi to meet Rohit Sharma

The deadline to announce the preliminary squad for the T20 World Cup is May 1.

BCCI Chief Selector, Ajit Agarkar, has been spotted in Delhi for the DC vs MI match on April 27. The former Indian cricketer reaching the capital before announcing India’s squad for the T20 World Cup 2024 isn’t a shock. The India cricket team’s captain, Rohit Sharma, is expected to finalize the 15-man squad along with Agarkar that’ll fly across the Atlantic.

Not just Rohit, but other probable contenders will also be taking the field for the 42nd match of IPL 2024. Rishabh Pant, Axar Patel, Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, and Suryakumar Yadav will be present in Delhi.

Probable T20 World Cup 2024 squad

Rohit Sharma (C), Virat Kohli, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya (VC). Rishabh Pant (WK), Rinku Singh, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah. Mohammed Siraj, Arshdeep Singh, Sanju Samson (WK), Shivam Dube.

Axar Patel and Shubman Gill to miss out?

Given the competition among the top-order players and the all-rounders, Axar and Gill are expected to miss out. With Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Sanju Samson, and Yashasvi Jaiswal present, it’ll be mighty difficult to fit Gill in the top 3.

With Ravindra Jadeja, Shivam Dube, and Hardik Pandya in the 15-man squad, Axar unfortunately misses out from India’s T20 World Cup 2024 squad. Axar also fits into the spinner category, and he has tough competition from Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, and Jadeja there.
