Former India chief selector Krishnamachari Srikkanth picks Ravindra Jadeja over Axar Patel in India’s playing XI for the T20 World Cup. With the squad set to be picked in a couple of days, the debate over which all-rounder to pick between the CSK and DC stars has been raging.
While Axar Patel has impressed all with his all-round performance in IPL 2024 and beyond, Jadeja boasts of his experience as a ‘big match player’ when it comes to crucial games.
Jadeja or Axar? Who will make it to India’s XI for T20 World Cup 2024?
Speaking on Star Sports Press Room, Srikkanth called Jadeja and Axar the two eyes of the Indian team, noting that both were effective in their own means. He backed Jadeja to be included in the playing XI, citing his vast experience in international cricket. Meanwhile, he reckons that Axar Patel should be included in the 15-member squad, given his performance so far and the skills set he possess.
