How Much Money Indian Domestic Players Make Currently?
As of now, the BCCI pays INR 60,000 to a player who has played more than 40 Ranji matches. 50,000 is the price for players who have appeared in 21 to 40 matches, and 40,000 for players who played 20 or less matches. The reserves in these domestic matches earn INR 30,000, INR 25,000 and INR 20,000, respectively. So if a side reaches the final, a player in the top category would end up making INR 25 lakh.
Why Remuneration Hike?
The players will also earn money from white-ball tournaments like the Vijay Hazare Trophy, and the Syed Mustaq Ali Trophy. The primary reason for the fees hike is to encourage the domestic players to play more of the Ranji Trophy. Last season there were a few players who missed the premier tournament matches to avoid injuries.
