Team manager of the Legends Cricket League 2024, Yoni Patel has been indicted by the Colombo High court over match-fixing charges, the Attorney General informed the court. The charges have come after complaint by former New Zealand player Neil Broom, and former Sri Lanka player Upul Tharanga.
Broom represented the Punjab Royals, while Tharanga was a part of the Kandy Samp Army Team. The two alleged that Yoni Patel had pressurised them to fix matches.

What Happened During Legends Cricket League?
As per the investigations, an alleged fixer approached the players with offers of money to underperform, and fix the result of the match. Meanwhile, a travel has already been imposed on Yoni, and another team manager, P Akash of the LCL, from leaving Sri Lanka.
About Legends Cricket League
The tournament featured seven teams from England, Australia, India, Pakistan, New Zealand and the West Indies. All the matches took place from March 8 to 19 at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, in Kandy. While the SLC was not directly involved in the competition, but the venue was provided by the board itself.
