The race to make it to the ICC T20 World Cup is heating up. While the India Cricket Team is experiencing a dearth of bowlers, Rajasthan Royals pacer Avesh Khan has joined the race to make it to the top stage. Team India faces a crisis as far as the pace department is concerned.
There is no Mohammed Shami. Mohammed Siraj’s poor T20 form is also a major concern. Thus it is Jasprit Bumrah who will be leading the pace charge.
Avesh Joins the race
RR pacer Avesh Khan has been brilliant in IPL 2024 so far. Apart from being an impactful bowler, he has managed to become a strong death over specialist. The 27-year-old has been acing the yorkers to perfection.
He has already bagged 7 wickets in 7 games, matching the likes of Trent Boult in IPL 2024. It is huge from Avesh given that Yuzvendra Chahal from his side has bagged the most wickets.
Chance for Mayank and Mohsin?
Not just Avesh, two Lucknow Super Giants pacer Mayank Yadav and Mohsin Khan are also on the race to make it to the ICC tournament. Mayank Yadav claimed the headlines after bowling the fastest deliveries in IPL 2024. But an abdominal strain meant that the 21-year-old is missing a couple of games. Another candidate on the list is Mohsin Khan.
This fellow pacer too has been good for the Lucknow outfits in the IPL. Should the duo remain fit and continue firing on all cylinders, they should get the nod ahead of Siraj.
