25 days into the IPL 2024 season, we have seen incredible catches, last-ball finishes, epic hundreds & bowling spells, and 500+ runs scored in a match twice already. In the extravaganza that the IPL is, one mustn’t forget the bigger picture. Your favorite franchise may win or lose, but the most important thing is the form of Indian players. With the T20 World Cup 2024 starting on June 2, Indian cricket team fans are already thinking about the probable squad for the event.
Probable T20 World Cup 2024 squad (after 30 matches of IPL 2024)
Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Abhishek Sharma, Riyan Parag, Shivam Dube, Sanju Samson (wk), Dinesh Karthik (wk), Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Mayank Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohit Sharma, Arshdeep Singh.
Top Order
So far, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Abhishek Sharma, and Sanju Samson have been the best top-order batters in the IPL 2024. Kohli currently holds the orange cap, has two fifties and one hundred, averages 72.2, and is striking at 147.34. Rohit has 261 runs at a rapid strike rate of 167.30. Stylish left-hander Abhishek has scored one fifty but is striking at 197.19, while Samson has a healthy average (66) and strike rate (155.29) as well.

Middle/lower middle-order
Riyan Parag, Shivam Dube, and Dinesh Karthik have impressed with their striking and match-finishing abilities. Dube, Parag, and Karthik have all scored fifties and have some of the best strike rates in the middle and death overs. Parag is currently striking at 155.19, Dube at 163.51, and Karthik at 205.45.
All-rounders
Ravindra Jadeja and Shivam Dube will be the two main all-rounder options. However, Abhishek and Parag can also roll their arms over. Jadeja currently has just 4 wickets but is averaging 84 with the bat and striking at 140. Primarily seen as a defensive bowler, the left-arm CSK spinner has an economy of 7.45 and also has a 3-fer to his name. Parag and Abhishek have bowled as well, but haven’t been successful so far, while Dube’s service with the ball hasn’t been needed by CSK.
Bowlers
Six out-and-out bowlers have emerged so far. Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav are the main spinners, while Jasprit Bumrah, Mohit Sharma, Arshdeep Singh, and Mayank Yadav are the pace bowling options. Nothing needs to be said about Bumrah and his ability to bowl in every phase. Arshdeep is a great new ball bowler and offers a left-handed advantage. Mayank can be used as a middle-order enforcer, while Mohit offers utility in the death overs alongside Bumrah.
Four of the six bowlers mentioned above are among the top 10 wicket-takers of the season, and the remaining two (Kuldeep and Mayank) have played just two matches so far.
