With the IPL 2024 up and running, scammers appear to be out in full force to deceive cricket fans. There have been multiple reports of people being duped when purchasing IPL tickets. Another example of fraud has been reported, with a fan fooled out of tickets to yesterday night’s PBKS vs RR game in Mullanpur.
Fan scammed for tickets at Mullanpur Stadium
A cricket fan attending an IPL match at Mullanpur Stadium shared a distressing account of his experience with an IPL ticket scam, highlighting various issues encountered during the event. Arriving slightly late due to traffic, the fans faced challenges with parking and long queues at the stadium entrance. Despite patiently waiting, the fan observed some individuals bypassing the queue through unauthorized means.
Upon reaching the entry gate, chaos ensued, with no orderly queue and confusion among attendees. Inside the stadium, the fans noticed lax security measures, with tickets not being scanned and unauthorized personnel collecting tickets without returning them. This led to further complications when attempting to access the seating area, with some individuals purchasing tickets on the spot from unauthorized sellers. Despite paying full price for tickets, the fan was in a crowded stand with limited space, leading to a disappointing viewing experience.
