The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) lost the toss and are put to bat first in the crucial Match 28 of IPL 2024 against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Garden in Kolkata on Sunday, April 14.
In order to boost their pace battery, Lucknow have unleashed their bowling weapon, Shamar Joseph, for his much-anticipated IPL debut.
Joseph, known for his express pace and wicket-taking abilities, has been a name on everyone’s lips since his fiery spell against Australia at the Gabba earlier this year.

Signed as a replacement for Mark Wood, Joseph has been waiting for his chance to impress in the IPL. Apart from this, LSG have also welcomed the return of Mohsin Khan, who missed out last couple of games due to an injury.
Devdutt Padikkal gets dropped after a string of poor games
Traded in from Rajasthan Royals (RR) ahead of the IPL 2024 mini-action, Devdutt Padikkal would’ve hoped for a better season with the bat for his new franchise.
Unfortunately for the youngster, he has endured a forgettable IPL 2024. In fact, he failed to get into double-digit scores in any of the five games he batted. Thus far, Padikkal could only attain 25 runs at a dismal average 5.0 and at a strike rate of 75.76.
Unsurprisingly, Lucknow have now dropped the southpaw and has replaced him by Deepak Hooda in their playing XI against KKR.
