Gautam Gambhir will be against Lucknow Super Giants for the first time. The former KKR skipper will be hoping the hosts fight hard against LSG. Gambhir has claimed that it is a new day and he is ready to face the Lucknow outfits. For the past 2 seasons, Gambhir had mentored the Lucknow side.
Gambhir ready to face LSG
After a span of 2 years, Gambhir Gambhir has joined Kolkata Knight Riders as their mentor from LSG. And this will be the first time he faces Lucknow. Gambhir will be hoping for KKR to win their maiden encounter LSG.
“Just a new day, I might know them well, but they know me pretty well too. In fact everyone knows each other quite well and plans accordingly. It doesn’t make a difference (that I am on the other side now). I had planned for KKR while I had been with LSG and now I am planning on behalf of KKR. It’s not as if I’m going to plan something different for them. Eventually, the team that plays better wins, and not the team that plans better,” Gambhir said ahead of the KKR vs LSG clash.
Relationships more than emotion
Gautam Gambhir has claimed that Sunil Narine is happy to see him back. Narine has won two IPL titles under Gambhir’s captaincy back in 2012 and 2014.
“He (Narine) was very happy to see me back. We have spent so much time together. Sometimes relationships are more about the emotion which you carry for each other than the time spent. Happy to see him doing well,” Gambhir concluded.
