Rovman Powell left it late into the penultimate ball of the last over to seal a win over Punjab Kings. Punjab Kings with this defeat has succumbed to their 4th loss of the campaign. Sanjay Bangar, the head of cricket for PBKS claimed that the top order has failed to score big runs. He also gave updates on Shikhar Dhawan’s injury.
Top Order Not Performing well for PBKS
“It is a cause of concern that the top order isn’t scoring enough runs. They are trying hard but it is just not coming. Low scoring games especially at Mullanpur, given the wicket is also a factor. It is also a factor, some of the scores are pretty low scores. All the three games we have played here, in the first 6 overs with the new ball, the wicket seems to jag a little bit,” said Sanjay Bangar after the game.
Batting first, Punjab Kings managed to score just 147 runs on the board. The absence of skipper Shikhar Dhawan also played a big role in the game.
Shikhar Dhawan Injured
Sanjay Bangar also went on to explain about Shikhar Dhawan’s injury. He claimed that the PBKS skipper has a shoulder injury and will be out for a few days.
“We missed out with Shikhar who has a shoulder injury. He is likely to be out for a couple of days. Having an experienced player like Shikhar who has experience in playing on such wickets becomes extremely crucial. The boys are putting a lot of effort, currently it is not coming off, but I sure it is just a knock away,” Bangar concluded.
