‘Thala for a reason’: Sunil Gavaskar sends crowd into raptures with this observation on MS Dhoni

MS Dhoni is one of the most successful captains of Indian premier League having led CSK to 5 titles

Legendary Indian Cricketer Sunil Gavaskar revealed two of his favourite teams in the ongoing IPL 2024. Reflecting on the same he also lavished praise on former CSK captain MS Dhoni, who he thinks has been the lynchpin of the Chennai Super King’s success.

“I have two favourite teams, Mumbai and Chennai Super Kings. Mumbai because I am from Mumbai and Chennai because of none other than MS Dhoni” said Gavaskar.

“That is why we say Thala for a reason. In IPL you have different players from different teams. Your main focus in the IPl is to win the trophy and for that, you have to keep some of the best players out at time, but you cant make them feel useless, you have to tell them how important their contributions are. and no one does it better than MS Dhoni. Hence, Thala for a reason” added Gavaskar.
