Assistant coach of Delhi Capitals Praveen Amre heaped praises on the team’s bowlers and batters after DC’s second victory of IPL 2024 over Lucknow Super Giants at the Ekana Cricket Stadium on Friday. DC put up a solid display at LSG’s home ground with both the bat and the ball. Bowling first, Rishabh Pant’s team restricted LSG to 167 before chasing the targets with almost two overs to spare.
DC saw quite some important performances in the match. On the bowling front, Kuldeep Yadav made a match-winning come back by taking 3/20 in 4 overs. Jack Fraser was the stand out performer in the batting department, scoring 35-ball 55.
Fraser the big-hitter
Amra, taking at the post-match press conference, was impressed with Fraser’s batting. “It was a tremendous innings by Jack Fraser. He was batting tremendously in the nets, so we could make out that he had the ability to strike the sixes. We were doing well in the last two games but not crossing the line. That was what was different in this match. Happy for Jack. He has got the talent, and he delivered today,” he said.
Shaw’s impact
“As an opener, Prithvi Shaw has a role to play. Winning the powerplay is also essential. We always like him to play 30 balls becauses the stats say when he plays 30 balls, there’s more chances of winning. Today, his experienced partner got out, so it was more important that he stayed, and Jack could also settle because of Shaw’s presence,” Amre said on the importance of Shaw’s innings.

Kuldeep the POTM
“We bowled really well today. Kuldeep Yadav got the man of the match, that speaks a lot about the impact he has had. He made sure LSG did not reach anywhere close to 190 by taking the wicket of Nicolas Pooran. Axar Patel was also impactful today, giving away 26 runs in 4 overs. Kuldeep was very excited to bowl in his home ground. He treated us to good food and got the POTM award for us too,” Amre said.
