To get a special player out, you need to bowl a special delivery. In the RR vs GT clash in Jaipur on Wednesday, the purple cap holder in IPL 2024, Yuzvendra Chahal did deliver that special ball against in-form Shubman Gill, to take his team to a certain win. After Shubman started the 16th over with two fours, Yuzi bowled one really wide, to get the batsman, out stumped.
Having said that, the dismissal didn’t come easy, as it looked. It required behind-the-stumps brilliance from Sanju Samson as well. The keeper could not collect the ball cleanly at first, but maintained composure to complete the dismissal. Eventually, Shubman was dismissed for 72 from 44 balls, while chasing 193.

RR vs GT, As it Happened
In the first innings of the match, Sanju and Riyan Parag smashed quickfire fifties to take RR to a massive 192/3. While Sanju scored 68 from 38, Parag managed 76 from 48 deliveries. Meanwhile, all the other RR batsmen failed miserably, as at one point they were 42/2 in 5.4 overs.
