In a major boost for Punjab Kings, batter Liam Livingstone is set to return next week after picking up a hamstring injury. Coming off a win, Punjab Kings host Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Mullanpur Stadium on Tuesday. Ahead of the PBKS vs SRH clash, captain Shikhar Dhawan provided this update on the batter.
Winning the toss and electing to bowl first, Dhawan relayed how they want to continue their winning momentum in IPL 2024 after losing their second and third games.
The captain also mentioned their fortune in securing victory in the previous game, emphasizing the team’s collective effort rather than dependence on specific players. With everyone stepping up, they eagerly anticipate another win today. However, Liam Livingstone is still undergoing recovery, and they remain hopeful for his return in the next game.
“We’ll bowl first. The wicket will stay the same, so look to restrict them to a low score. We were lucky to have won the last match, it’s good that we’re not depending on any one player. We’ve won two games, looking forward to a good run. He’s still recovering (on Liam Livingstone), we’re playing the same team,” said Dhawan.

Liam Livingstone set to be back
Livingstone was sidelined due to a hamstring injury sustained during PBKS’s encounter against LSG in Lucknow. The England player, who sustained the injury while fielding, was forced to leave the field immediately but returned to bat later in the game. Although he stepped out to bat, the injury appeared to impede the England all-rounder’s batting and running between the wickets, forcing him to miss the last match. Sikandar Raza replaced him in the next games.
