Chennai Super Kings (CSK) returned to their winning ways in the IPL 2024 season, defeating Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by a comfortable margin of 7 wickets. They were phenomenal in front of their jubilant home crowd at the Chepauk Stadium. MS Dhoni surprised fans with a surprising move, coming to bat at number five to provide the home fans something to remember.
While the match belonged to CSK, a heartwarming moment emerged on social media after match. Rahmanullah Gurbaz, the KKR wicket-keeper who hasn’t had a chance to play in IPL 2024 so far, took to Twitter to share a photo with Dhoni.
The picture captured the essence of sportsmanship, showcasing Dhoni gifting a signed cricket bat to the Afghan maestro.
The gesture resonated with fans, highlighting Dhoni’s characteristic cricketing spirit with Gurbaz, who has often spoken highly of the former CSK skipper.

CSK cruise to a much-needed win vs KKR
After facing two consecutive defeats on road, CSK finally sealed two point, beating KKR at the MA Chidambaram on Monday, April 8.
The main architects of CSK’s win were their bowlers, especially Ravindra Jadeja who spun his web with 3/18 in his four overs. Tushar Deshpande also bagged three wickets, helping CSK to restrict the visitors to 137/9.
In reply, Ruturaj Gaikwad played a superb anchor role. His captain’s knock of 67* off 58 balls put the KKR bowlers on the backfoot as the Super Kings clinched the game with 14 balls to spare.
