Big Blow for LSG! Mayank Yadav suffers side strain unable to continue in LSG vs GT clash

LSG vs GT: Huge blow for Lucknow Super Giants, Mayank Yadav suffers side strain, unable to bowl vs Gujarat Titans

Lucknow Super Giants have received a huge blow. Fiery speedster Mayank Yadav has suffered a side strain and has left the field. The 21-year-old pacer managed to bowl just a solitary over. He conceded 13 runs and unlike his trademark speeds, he bowled very slow, indicating that he is carrying an injury.

There were doubts among the fans as to why the youngster wasn’t bowling. Even in his first over, he looked a shadow of himself in terms of speed. He bowled in the fourth over of his innings. Mayank’s highest speed was clocked at 140.9 kph

Mayank Yadav Injured

If the Lucknow Super Giants were worried about anything, it was about Mayank’s injury. And their worst fears came true in the LSG vs GT clash. Previously, Mayank lighted IPL 2024 with his remarkable speed. He bagged 6 wickets in just 2 games to go up the ladder in the race for the Purple Cap.

This isn’t the first time that Mayank is injured. He missed entirety of IPL 2023 with an injury. Though, the youngster continued to fire on all cylinders and achieve remarkable speeds, questions were raised on his fitness and conditioning.

And now LSG will have to be very careful about the fitness of their pacer. The team can’t afford to lose out a bowler for an entire tournament.
