Rajasthan Royals (RR) spinner Yuzvendra Chahal shared a heartfelt message for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star Virat Kohli following RR’s six-wicket victory over RCB at the Sawai Mansingh Indoor Stadium in Jaipur on Saturday.
Captioning a photo of the two former teammates embracing each other, Chahal wrote, “You will always be my Virat bhaiya.”
Chahal and Kohli were part of RCB together from 2014 to 2021. While Kohli has been with the franchise since its inception, Chahal began his IPL journey with Mumbai Indians (MI) before joining RCB and now plays for RR.
During the match, the camaraderie between the two players was evident. Chahal was seen examining Kohli’s bat during one of the breaks between overs and later congratulated him as he returned to the pavilion after the first innings.

Virat Kohli’s unbeaten 113 sparks concern for T20 WC
Virat Kohli has been in exceptional form in the Indian Premier League 2024, scoring two fifties against Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders before smashing a century against Rajasthan Royals. He became the first batter in the 17th season to surpass the 300-run mark.
However, Kohli’s century, achieved in 67 balls, was one of the slowest in the history of the tournament. His strike rate came under scrutiny again after RCB’s defeat by six wickets. Reports suggest that Kohli may not be selected for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 due to his conventional approach in the shortest format of the game. The BCCI and selectors are reportedly considering younger players to replace him. Nonetheless, Kohli remains unfazed, focusing on his impressive performances in the IPL.
