Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Saturday succumbed to yet another defeat in IPL 2024, this time at the hands of Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium. RCB have only one win in the first five matches of this season. Former Indian opener Aakash Chopra slammed RCB after the defeat, saying nothing has changed for the franchise apart from their name.
RCB swept aside
Rajasthan Royals on Saturday won the toss and chose to bowl. RCB got off to a flying start with an opening partnership of 125 runs. Captain Faf du Plessis scored 44 runs and Virat Kohli went on to score his first century of IPL 2024. However, RCB failed to accelerate at the end and gave a target of 184 to RR. RR chased the score with 5 balls remaining as Jos Buttler remained not on 100.

“Everyone said that this tournament has twists and thrillers. However, the Bengaluru guys are saying – ‘It’s not the case with us. Neither are we able to win nor are we able to fight. We wanted Kohli to score runs, he is doing that, but no one else is able to score and whatever we score is not enough’,” Chopra said.
“What is happening? They have played five matches and lost four of them. The situation is very bad. They have changed their name but not their deeds. They are struggling, there is no doubt about that,” the former India opener added.
