Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson has had a fun-filled childhood. Ahead of their game against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Saturday, Samson in a chat show on Star Sports, laid bare several incidents about his childhood. From his schooling to spending his Sundays, Samson reminisced on a range of topics.

From a backbencher to a studious kid

Samson revealed that he had done his schooling from Delhi as well as Kerala. The RR captain said while he was a naughty kid in Delhi, he became disciplined in Kerala because the school’s principal was his father’s friend.

I’ve done my schooling both in Delhi and Kerala. I was very naughty in Delhi, but I became disciplined when I came to Kerala because the school’s principal was my father’s friend. So I acted like a studious person,” Samson said.

He also narrated a funny incident where he was punished due to his excitement.

Once, I went to the vice-principal and asked if we can have a PT period on our free period. The teacher gave us permission. I became so excited that I went shouting across the corridors. My classmates enjoyed the free period, but I was punished for shouting,” he said.

Sundays a fun days for Samson

Samson also explained how he spent his Sundays.

I used to go to the church with my family on Sunday morning. Then my mom would cook something special on Sundays. I used to help her by finishing what she made,” Samson quipped.
