MS Dhoni fans break barricade to enter Uppal Stadium, police takes control of situation

Large section of CSK fans were seen creating a chaos at the Uppal Stadium in Hyderabad ahead of their IPL 2024 match against SRH.

In a display of the unwavering passion for their team, a large group of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) fans were filmed breaching barricades at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Uppal, Hyderabad, during Match 18 of IPL 2024. The incident went viral and shared widely on social media, underscores the immense craze surrounding CSK and its iconic figure in MS Dhoni.

Reports suggest that the surge of fans overwhelmed security personnel stationed at Gate No. 4, leading to a brief lapse in crowd control. This led to Police to intervene in the matter as they halted the away fans to enter the arena prematurely.

Even amidst the strong orange wave of Hyderabad fans (SRH), the match on Friday showcased the immense support that CSK enjoys, as evident by the presence of innumerable yellow jerseys at the stadium.

CSK post 165/5 in the first innings vs SRH

After being put to bat first by Pat Cummins, the Super Kings managed to post up 165/5 in their allotted 20 overs. Shivam Dube, once again, looked class apart as he hammered 45 runs at a strike rate of just under 188. However, none of the other CSK batters hit more than at a rate of 135 as SRH bowlers stifled the CSK innings.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar proved to be the most economical bowler for the hosts as he gave only 28 runs in his four overs. Both Cummins and Jaydev Unadkat, meanwhile, returned with the figures of 1/29.
