Punjab Kings becomes only team to chase 200+ target 6 times in IPL history

This was the Punjab Kings second win, having lost their last two encounters against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru and the Lucknow Super Giants.

Punjab Kings (PBKS) recorded their second win of the IPL 2024 on April 4. The impressive victory came against the Gujarat Titans, and that too away from home. While Shashank Singh got the limelight for his brilliant 61-run knock, an incredible record created by the franchise wasn’t even mentioned.

The GT vs PBKS match was proved by the sixth time the side chased down a target of 200 or above. Before the match, the Punjab Kings were tied with the Mumbai Indians as the two teams that had conquered the 200+ target five times. However, now they have one-upped the 5-time champions by winning a thrilling encounter in Ahmedabad by 3 wickets.

Despite not having any titles of their own, the Punjab Kings are ahead of title winners like the Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, Mumbai Indians, and Sunrisers Hyderabad. Interestingly, the team they were facing, the Gujarat Titans, remains the only team to have never chased down a 200 or above target.
