DC was rather toothless in the run chase despite Rishabh Pant’s bold heroics.
Runs Galore in IPL 2024!
IPL 2024 has been a run fest for teams. Sunrisers Hyderabad amassed 277 to register the highest score by a team in IPL history. Kolkata Knight Riders came close to break that record. KKR managed to score 272 in the DC vs KKR clash. Huge innings from Sunil Narine, Andre Russell and Angrkrish Raghuvanshi was enough to propel the Knight Riders to score their highest runs in IPL history.
Limping Pant’s Heroics in Vain!
The Delhi Capitals couldn’t put up a fight, except for their skipper Rishabh Pant. Despite limping, Rishabh Pant went on to hammer a blistering 25-ball, 55-run knock to keep DC in the contest. This was Rishabh’s 17th IPL fifty, coupled with his maiden fifty against KKR. Though he was rusty at the start of the tournament, Pant roared back to form with consecutive fifties.

Be it with the bat or with the ball, Sunil Narine has been a class apart in the DC vs KKR clash. Sunil Narine has been exceptional for the Kolkata outfits. Opening the innings, he went all out on the DC bowlers. He went on to slam a blistering knock of 85 runs from 39 balls, hitting 7 fours and 7 sixes. Coming to bowling, he went on to bag a solitary wicket of Sumit Kumar. He bowled 4 overs when he gave away just 29 runs.
Who won yesterday’s IPL match?
There had to be only one contender to bag the Man of the Match Award. Sunil Narine bagged the award and is now tied with Andre Russell with 17 MOM awards in IPL history. KKR batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi had an IPL debut to remember. KKR brought in a solitary change in their Playing XI. The 18-year old was brought in the team in place of Anukul Roy. Coming to bat at number 3 after Phil Salt’s dismissal, the youngster displayed brilliant batting prowess. He slammed a blistering 27-ball 54-run knock hitting 5 fours and 3 sixes.
