Outfoxed by pace! RCB star reveals failed plan to tackle Mayank Yadav

RCB were blown away by Mayank Yadav's fiery spell as LSG clinched a 28-run victory over the hosts in Bengaluru

RCB’s plans for a fiery Mayank Yadav backfired as the LSG pacer breathed fire at the M Chinnaswamy stadium on Tuesday. LSG clinched a 28-run win against the home side, with Player of the Match Mayank adding three more wickets to his name. RCB’s impact player Mahipal Lomror revealed how the side’s plan for the pacer flopped, following the loss in Bengaluru.

‘Wanted to use his pace’: RCB’s failed plan for Mayank Yadav

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Lomror reveals that the side wanted to use Mayank Yadav’s pace against him but couldn’t do so. He further said that he had faced the fiery pacer in domestic cricket earlier.

Our overall plan was to use his pace, not to go against it. There were some mistakes. We need to be very clear about what we have to do if someone is bowling 150 kmph. We need to know what are our options and what are going to do against him,” Lomror said.

A Mayank Yadav show in Bengaluru!

Mayank took a 3-fer in the RCB vs LSG match, and was given the POTM award once again. He had breached the 155 barrier twice in the game and became the only individual to go past the mark thrice after clocking a rapid 156.7 delivery.

The prized wickets of Cameron Green, Glenn Maxwell, and Rajat Patidar and an economy of 3.5 handed him the POTM award. His first ball changed the course of the match, with Faf du Plessis getting run-out on it, and then he struck just three balls later, sending Maxwell back for a duck off a venomous 151-kilometer bouncer.
