Lucknow Super Giants‘ (LSG) left-arm spinner M Siddharth had a night to remember on Tuesday. Not only did he contribute to his team’s victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), but he also achieved a personal milestone by dismissing the legendary Virat Kohli.

The packed Chinnaswamy Stadium witnessed a special moment when M Siddharth, bowling during the 4th over, outfoxed the in-form Virat Kohli. The RCB star batter, who had already smashed a six and two boundaries, was looking dangerous.
However, M Siddharth’s clever bowling – a slower, fuller delivery – deceived Virat Kohli. The leading edge flew towards backward point, where Devdutt Padikkal completed a simple catch to send Kohli back for 22 runs.

This maiden IPL wicket was particularly sweet for M Siddharth, who openly admitted in the post-match press conference, “I have always dreamt of taking his wicket.” He elaborated, “Anyone in the world would be happy to dismiss Virat Kohli. It’s a huge wicket.”
The ecstatic bowler’s celebration, which included running across the field and a high-five with teammate Ravi Bishnoi, reflected the significance of the moment.

M Siddharth attributed his success to a simple approach. “I just wanted to keep it simple,” he revealed in the post-match press conference. “I backed my strengths and knew that if I could maintain my length, I could contribute to the team’s victory.”

While Siddharth’s bowling stole the night in terms of personal milestones, LSG’s bowling attack received another stellar performance from Mayank Yadav.
Following his Player of the Match performance in the previous game, Mayank Yadav continued his impressive form, claiming three wickets for just 14 runs against RCB. Siddharth expressed his delight for his teammate, stating, “We all know what Mayank can do, and he’s delivering at the right time.”
