Lucknow Super Giants have bagged 2 wins on a trot. Their latest comes against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The KL Rahul led side inflicted a dominant 28 run defeat at Chinnaswamy. With this defeat RCB goes to the second last spot in the Points Table. Quinton de Kock’s blistering fifty, followed by Fast and Furious spell from Mayank Yadav was enough to outclass the Bengaluru outfits.

Lucknow Super Giants pace Mayank Yadav has lighted up IPL 2024. The 21-year-old young pacer clocked the fastest ball bowled in IPL 2024. The pacer beat his own previous milestone to set the speedometer record 156.7 kmph in the RCB vs LSG clash.

New Year, Same Old RCB!

Another day and another batting collapse for Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Tasked to chase down 182, the RCB team were blown apart by the Lucknow outfits. Mahipal Lomror came in an impact sub to score the highest runs in the team, 33. The rest of the team, like every other year, unable to control damage.

T20 World Cup changes to fizzle out?

It has not been the ideal Indian Premier League (IPL) for RCB pacer Mohammed Siraj. The ace pacer continues to leak runs thereby causing a big problem for himself. Siraj conceded 46 runs the other day, and against LSG he leaked 47 runs. With 60 days remaining for T20 World Cup and Mohammed Shami ruled out, it is a big selection headache for BCCI Selection Committee to decide who will partner Jasprit Bumrah to lead the pace charge.

Star Lucknow Super Giants batter Nicholas Pooran needs no introduction. However, the West Indian southpaw went on to imprint his name in the history books. The destructive batter slammed the joint highest six hit in IPL 2024. Pooran went on to hammer Reece Topley for a massive 106 meter six, which is the joint highest six hit in this edition of IPL.

De Kock Masterclass at Chinnaswamy

Lucknow Super Giants opener Quinton de Kock let his bat speak in the RCB vs LSG clash. The Proteas southpaw was on a class of his own. He slammed a blistering 81 run knock from 56 balls. The destructive batter made his intentions clear from the start. His rampage consisted of 8 fours and 5 sixes that set the pace of LSG innings.

Max Max, Super Max!

Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell needs no introduction. He might not have been in top form in batting, but the Aussie was crucial in his bowling spell. The spinner was introduced early in the powerplay and he proved effective. He immediately stopped LSG from scoring a plethora of runs, and also managed to bag 2 wickets. He scalped KL Rahul and Marcus Stoinis to bowl a superb spell of 23 from with 2 wickets from 4 overs.

Max Not-Well!

His bowling might have been good, but Glenn Maxwell has been poor with the bat. In fact the ace all-rounder has registered yet another duck in the tournament. And with another 0 in his kitty, Glenn Maxwell now has a total of 16 ducks in the history of IPL, which is the second highest. One more duck and he will go on to top the charts with Dinesh Karthik and Rohit Sharma.

Mega Record for DK

Royal Challengers Bengaluru batter Dinesh Karthik has achieved a mega milestone. He has gone on to topple the likes of MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Karthik now has played 300 T20 matches in India, which is the highest played by any cricketer in a country. Overall, the keeper-batter has featured in 389 T20 matches.

Virat Kohli continues to rewrite history books!

Virat Kohli and records go hand in hand! The former RCB and India skipper was decent with the bat, slamming 22 runs and retaking the Orange Cap from Riyan Parag. However, he has now gone on to become the first Indian to play 100 T20 matches at a single venue, i.e Chinnaswamy.

ICC T20 World Cup Fever Wages On!

The ICC T20 World Cup is still 60 days away. Yet the craze and the excitement for the tournament has been unparallel. The ICC has now gone on to announce additional ticket sales for two of India’s matches. These matches will be Team India’s clash against Ireland and USA. India begin their World Cup journey on 5th June against Ireland.

No T20 World Cup for Ben Stokes!

England skipper Ben Stokes has announced that he won’t play in ICC T20 World Cup. The ace all-rounder is currently focused on regaining full fitness. Stokes opted out of IPL 2024 to focus on red ball cricket. Now, he is determined to fair well across all three formats when he is fully fit. England however, will be lead by Jos Buttler in the ICC tournament.

BCCI makes changes to IPL 2024 Schedule

The BCCI has announced 2 changes to their schedule. The Kolkata Knight Riders vs Rajasthan Royals game in Kolkata has been preponed to 16th April from 17th. Conversely, the Gujarat Titans vs Delhi Capitals clash in Ahmedabad has been scheduled to take place on 17th. The reason for change? CAB citing concerns over unavailability of police and security due to Ram Navami festival on the same day.
