RCB vs LSG Predicted Playing XI: Rajat Patidar to be dropped, KL Rahul returns as captain

RCB and LSG have squared off in four IPL matches. Bengaluru has won three of these four games, while Lucknow has won only one.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru are gearing up for their fourth IPL 2024 encounter, hosting Lucknow Super Giants. The RCB vs LSG is set to start at 7.30 PM at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Despite a shaky start to the season, with two losses in three matches, Bengaluru remains optimistic, anchored by the consistent performance of Virat Kohli. However, concerns linger over their batting lineup’s lack of synchronization, coupled with the bowling unit’s struggle to find momentum, notably with Alzarri Joseph and Mohammed Siraj faltering.

On the flip side, Lucknow Super Giants enter the fray fresh off a triumph against the Punjab Kings. The return of KL Rahul, albeit in a limited capacity, adds depth to their squad, with Nicholas Pooran stepping up as captain in Rahul’s absence. The team’s composition, featuring explosive talents like Quinton de Kock, Devdutt Padikkal, and Marcus Stoinis, poses a formidable challenge to RCB’s bowlers.

Mahipal Lomror to come in for Rajat Patidar in RCB vs LSG?

For Bengaluru, the spotlight falls on their faltering top order, where Faf du Plessis and Cameron Green are yet to find their rhythm. Additionally, Maxwell’s struggle to adapt to slower pitches adds pressure to the middle order, especially with Rajat Patidar’s inconsistency.

Considering Patidar’s lackluster performance thus far, RCB looks set to replace him with Mahipal Lomror, aiming to bolster their middle-order stability. Lomror’s impactful cameo in the previous match against Punjab Kings strengthens their confidence in this strategic switch.

KL Rahul returns as captain or an impact player in RCB vs LSG?

Meanwhile, LSG’s focus remains on KL Rahul’s fitness, as they prepare to face the formidable RCB challenge. While KL Rahul played only as an impact player against PBKS, given the intensity of the game, Rahul can return as the captain.

The recent debutants, Mayank Yadav and Manimaran Siddharth have injected fresh energy into the team, with Yadav’s impressive pace and match-winning display earning him a retention in the squad. However, Siddharth might make way for Shivam Mavi, as LSG strategizes for their encounter against Bengaluru.

RCB vs LSG Predicted XI:

RCB Predicted Playing XI: Faf du Plessis (C), Virat Kohli, Cameron Green, Glenn Maxwell, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Anuj Rawat, Mahipal Lomror, Mayank Dagar, Vijaykumar Vyshak, Lockie Ferguson, Mohammed Siraj
