MS Dhoni shows ‘heart of gold’, clicks picture with Vizag ground staff despite losing match

Dhoni had last batted in the IPL 308 days ago and found himself at home on the pitch immediately, scoring a boundary off his first ball.

MS Dhoni has once again shown why he’s adored by everyone. After falling short of the Delhi Capitals’ 192-run target by 20 runs, the wicketkeeper decided to spend the next few moments spreading joy instead of sulking after defeat. Although his incredible inning lit the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium on fire, it wasn’t enough to take the Chennai Super Kings across the line.

Leaving Vizag with a sour taste in his mouth, MS Dhoni decided to do one last bit for the people who made the match possible, the ground staff. Not only did he click an image with the entire ground staff, but he also coordinated where they should stand so that all of them were visible in the image. After they clicked the image, some of the ground staff were seen jumping with joy, as they failed to curb their excitement.

An IPL return to remember for MS Dhoni

Returning to the bat in the IPL after 308 days, Dhoni smacked a four on his very first ball. He got a reprieve on the very next ball and made it count. The batter went on a blitzkrieg, smashing the Delhi Capitals bowlers all over the park. He hit sixes over point, cover, and deep wicket and ended with a score of 37 off just 16 balls.

However, the most memorable moment was his one-handed six, which he launched into the stands in the final over of the match, that too against the menacing Anrich Nortje.
