Although Punjab Kings fell short by 21 runs against Lucknow Super Giants at the Ekana Cricket Stadium on Saturday, PBKS head coach Sanjay Bangar was all praise for LSG fast bowler Mayank Yadav. Chasing a target of 200 runs, PBSK fell short by 21 runs in spite of having a great start with Shikhar Dhawan and Johnny Bairstow stitching a 21-run partnership.
LSG fast bowler Mayank Yadav caught the attention of the cricketing world with his fantastic bowling. They young bowler consistently bowled at over 150 kmph and his lengths made it tough for PBKS batters to hit through the line. The young bowler finished with a figure of 4-0-27-3.
PBKS head coach Sanjay Bangar was all praise for the bowler at the post match press conference.
“We had a great start with Shikhar and Bairstow. But credit to the young fast bowler Mayank Yadav who broke the back of our batting. He bowled really fast and the lengths that he bowled made it difficult. He used the big side of the boundary really well. We couldn’t force the issue after that. Livingstone’s injury also hampered our chances because he bats slightly higher up the order,” Bangar said.
“Not everybody has the pace he possesses. His action is pretty good, hits those lengths really well, has a wonderful run up. That is the beauty of IPL. It unearths talent, provides platform for young players to make a name for themselves,” he added.
