LSG vs PBKS Highlights: 10-1, another home team has won! Despite not having KL Rahul as their skipper, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have claimed their first win of the IPL 2024 season. Although Krunal Pandya and Nicholas Pooran were the ones who handed them the upper hand, it was debutant Mayank Yadav who handed them the victory.
A debut to remember for Mayank Yadav
The 21-year-old was breathing fire in Lucknow. Such was his speed that Shikhar Dhawan even admitted that he was surprised by it. The express pacer bowled 7 of the 10 fastest deliveries of the season and also claimed the prized wickets of Jonny Bairstow, Prabhsimran Singh, and Jitesh Sharma.
Liam Livingstone: Destroyer of Bowlers and Cameras
The game provided entertainment until the final over of the match. In the last over of the match, Liam Livingstone struck a powerful hit that seemed to be sailing over the deep mid-wicket boundary. But the English all-rounder didn’t get half a dozen runs, as he hit and broke the Spidercam, and the ball was eventually called dead by the umpire.
Finally, a win for Pandya
It was a good day to be Pandya, Krunal, and not Hardik. The all-rounder scored an important 43-run knock off just 22 balls and then returned to bowl three economical bowlers. While his younger brother was getting booed wherever he went, he was greeted by loud cheers at the Ekana Cricket Stadium.
Shikhar Dhawan & Jonny Bairstow’s century stand
Chasing 200 isn’t easy, but Shikhar Dhawan and Jonny Bairstow were up for it. The stylish duo scored 102 runs together in just 70 balls and ensured that a platform was set for the remaining players. After a rough couple of games, Bairstow found his best. The aggressive Englishman scored 3 sixes and fours for a well-made 42. By the time Bairstow got out, Dhawan had already scored 60 off 41 balls, but with his partner gone, he couldn’t stay in for long either and departed for a 50-ball 70.
