The curse has been lifted! An away team has finally won a match in the IPL 2024 season. The peculiar pattern had piqued everyone’s interest; it started with the Chennai Super Kings winning the season opener, and we saw the home team winning the next 8 matches as well. However, the Kolkata Knight Riders took it upon themselves to break the streak as they handed the Royal Challengers Bengaluru a responding defeat.

It was previously the Kolkata Knight Riders that defended the streak from being broken when they snatched victory from the jaws of defeat in the third match of the IPL 2024 season. In the sixth match, the Gujarat Titans did something similar after they defended 48 runs from the last six overs.
Even last night (March 28), the Delhi Capitals posed a threat to the home win streak, but the Rajasthan Royals stood their ground and snatched a 12-run victory to make it 9 out of 9. But the Royal Challengers Bengaluru have failed to do so. With the curse finally being lifted, we’ll have to see if we have a reverse trend where the away teams dominate the fixtures.
