The remainder of the IPL 2024 Schedule is set to be released soon. But the dates and the venues for the knockouts have been fixed. The Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator will be held in Motera. On the other hand, Qualifier 2 and the Final will be held at Chepauk. It is safe to say that there will be reserve days for all the four matches.
While two of the knockout matches will be held in Ahmedabad, there is still provision for a reserve day. The reserve day will only be used if a match gets washed off completely. While fans may argue about wash off in Gujarat? The latest example being IPL 2023 Final while had to commence on reserve day after torrential rain in Motera.
Chennai on the other hand gets 2 reserve days. With monsoon approaching and hints of nor-westers in the southern part of the country, there is provision for 2 reserve days. While there is a time crunch as the T20 World Cup will be just a week away, but the BCCI has made preparations for the same.
Qualifier 1 – 21st May – Motera
Eliminator – 22nd May – Motera
Reserve Day – 23rd May
Qualifier 2 – 24th May – Chepauk
Reserve Day – 25th May
Final – 26th May – Chepauk
While the knockouts kick start in Motera, it will however be Chepauk that will host the IPL 2024 Final. The Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator will be held in Motera on 21st and 22nd May. As a result, 23rd May will be the reserve day should either of the game get washed off by chance.
Qualifier 2 will take place in Chennai on 24th May. The next day, i.e 25th May is the reserve day. May 26th is the mega day, the day of IPL 2024 Final. Should that day be washed off, then the final will take place on 27th May.
