PCB restores Haris Rauf’s contract after pacer tenders written apology to board

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) restores Central contract of Haris Rauf after ace pacer tenders written apology to board

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to restore central contract of Haris Rauf. The ace pacer’s contract was terminated earlier this year when he decided not to make himself available for National Team commitments. However, now after Rauf tendering a written apology, the board has decided to reinstate his contract.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi claimed now the matter has been put to rest. Rauf apparently admitted his mistake and sent an apology letter to the PCB top brass. Rauf’s contract was terminated when he citied workload issues and made himself unavailable for Pakistan tour of Australia.

“After receiving his written reply the board has decided to restore his central contract,” Naqvi said at a press conference.

Rauf prioritised international T20 cricket over his National Team commitments. This prompted the PCB to terminate his contract citing disciplinary grounds. Now that the player has apologised and understood his mistake, he gets his contract back.

“So we have decided to restore his central contract. We are also worried about Haris Rauf’s fitness because he was injured during the PSL and we need to take proper care of him,” Naqvi concluded.
