The IPL 2024 Final will be held at the iconic MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The date for the IPL 2024 is tentatively expected to be on 26th May. The Chepauk Stadium will host Qualifier 1 along with the grand final. On the other hand, the Narendra Modi Stadium will host the other qualifier and the Eliminator matches.
The BCCI is set to release the remainder of the IPL schedule shortly. Now that the Election dates have been released, it will be easier for the BCCI to release the remaining schedule.
“The IPL Governing Council has followed the tradition of holding the opening game and final at the home venue of last year’s defending champions — in this case Chennai Super Kings,” a senior BCCI official told PTI.
Delight For MS Dhoni Fans
It will be good news for Chennai Super Kings fans and especially MS Dhoni fans. In what could possibly be his last dance, the final game of IPL 2024 will be played in his den. The IPL council follows the trend where the opening game and the final game of the tournament is held on the home ground of the previous year’s winner.
Since CSK won IPL 2023 beating GT at the Narendra Modi Stadium, it was essentially a no-brainer that the IPL 2024 Final would be held else where.
CSK began their IPL 2024 campaign on a strong note by beating RCB by 6 wickets. If CSK goes on to play the final, Ruturaj Gaikwad and his men will get the added support from the Yellow Army at the Chepauk Stadium.
