Virat got frustrated: AB de Villiers analyses Rawat-Karthik recover knock after opening order collapse

IPL 2024: Virat Kohli was frustrated claims AB de Villiers after being to play big knock in IPL 2024 opener

Royal Challengers Bengaluru made a sensational comeback in their opening game against CSK in IPL 2024. Young Anuj Rawat and veteran Dinesh Karthik stitched a strong partnership to hold the reins of their side. When RCB were languishing at 78/5, the duo helped post a decent total of 173/6 at the end of the innings as Kohli was left frustrated unable to play a big knock

The duo of Rawat and Karthik earned huge praises from former RCB star-man AB de Villiers. The Proteas legend went on to explain how the duo played a 95-run partnership which was crucial in helping his side post a decent total on the board. He claimed how the condition and the slow wicket frustrated Virat Kohli.

They started well. Slow conditions and you had to hit hard. When Faf got out, it became difficult to score runs. Virat got frustrated and then the wickets fell quickly. But then in the end, a great comeback from Anuj Rawat and Dinesh Karthik to put up a decent total on the board,” said AB de Villiers during the mid innings break.

Mustafizur Shines for CSK

Mustafizur Rahman was the man of the moment for CSK. The overseas pacer bagged a stunning four-fer which included victims like, Faf du Plessis, Rajat Patidar, Virat Kohli and Cameron Green.

It is the slower ball. His stock delivery is above 140 clicks. But you never know when the slow ball comes. Despite good bowling action, the slow ball hits hard and the you suffer,” ABD added.

Ruturaj Gaikwad takes over mantle from MS Dhoni

The biggest headlines was the transfer of captaincy in CSK. MS Dhoni handed over the reins of the Yellow Army to Ruturaj Gaikwad. And it is safe to say that Gaikwad was pretty decent on his job.

“The biggest trick for him is not to fall into the trap of media and not be intimidated by MS Dhoni. Learn from the best and move on. He needs to turn his phone off for the next year and get better,” AB de Villiers concluded.
