IPL 2024: Adam Zampa pulls out of tournament, Rajasthan Royals dealt with second blow

IPL 2024: The reason for Rajasathan Royals' Adam Zampa's decision to skip the tournament is still not known.

Australia leg spinner, and Rajasthan Royals‘ foreign recruit Adam Zampa has pulled out of the IPL 2024 due to personal reasons, as per a report in ESPNCricinfo. Zampa was retained by the RR for INR 1.5 Cr, but as per his manager, he would not be able to take part in the upcoming edition of the tournament.

Zampa, meanwhile has been playing non-stop cricket since the 2023 World Cup in India, where had finished as one of the highest wicket-takers. For the Royals too, last year, Zampa picked up eight wickets in six matches, at an economy of 8.54. Overall, he had played 20 matches in the tournament, picking up 29 wickets.

That is not the only injury concern in the RR camp though, as the team had lost pacer Prasidh Krishna as well, after he injured his quadriceps during the initial stages of the Ranji Trophy. Till now, no replacements have been announced for either of the players.

The absence of Zampa isn’t expected to cause much trouble for Royals since they have R Ashwin and Yuvvendra Chahal in their ranks, who are wicket-taking options too, including part-time spinners in Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag.
