Perhaps it was a form of poetic justice that Sarfaraz Khan went on to make his debut in the IND vs ENG series. The Indian captain claimed that Sarfaraz Khan’s Test cap belonged to his father more than it belonged to him and said he was happy to see so many youngsters making their debuts in the IND vs ENG series.

India, despite missing quite a few key players, demolished visitors England in the 5 match series to win 4-1. Youngsters played a crucial role in the series win, with players such as Yashasvi Jaiswal, Dhruv Jurel, Sarfaraz Khan and Akash Deep rising at the right time to take India home.
