Star Sports introduces IPL 2024 Live Broadcast in 7 languages with star-studded commentary panel

The 17th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is poised to commence on March 22, featuring an exciting clash between defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Chennai. The IPL 2024 matches will start at the normal hour of 7:30 PM IST. However, on days featuring double-headers, the first match will start at 3:30 PM IST. As for the inaugural CSK vs RCB match, it will begin at 8:00 PM IST. CSK gears up to defend their title after securing their fifth IPL trophy in 2023, triumphing over Gujarat Titans in a thrilling match that culminated with a last-ball finish.

Star Sports Network holds the broadcasting rights for IPL 2024 in India, ensuring comprehensive coverage of all matches across its channels. The network offers up to nine channels in SD and HD quality, including English, Hindi, Tamil, and others, through DTH providers like Tata Play, Dish TV, and Airtel Dish TV. The live broadcast of all matches in different languages. 

They’ve collaborated with Dolby to incorporate Dolby ATMOS (5.1.4) audio into their HD streams, resulting in an immersive audio experience. They’ve also collaborated with Dolby to optimise the placement of around 40 microphones across the stadium to record high-quality sound.

Viewers may also switch to ‘Ambience Only’ mode, which removes commentary and creates a stadium-like environment for fans to enjoy.The Quad Replay function allows viewers to catch key events from many viewpoints at once, resulting in a more immersive viewing experience. This will also provide real-time analysis with additional information.

This system employs many high-definition cameras to catch all of the action from various perspectives. The material is then processed and shown on a huge screen, allowing spectators to evaluate and analyse it in real time.

The lineup includes recently retired England seamer Stuart Broad, along with active players like Steve Smith, N Jagadeesan, M Ashwin, and J Suchith. Navjot Singh Sidhu, known for his witty commentary, makes a return.
