IPL 2024: Sunrisers Hyderabad release new, catchy anthem as they hope for turnaround under Pat Cummins

Sunrisers Hyderabad will play their first match of IPL 2024 on March 23 against Kolkata Knight Riders

SunRisers Hyderabad have released their official anthem ahead of the IPL 2024. SRH will look to turn their fortunes as they prepare for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League.

The new anthem has a catchy tune featuring SRH captain Pat Cummins, along with Aiden Markram, Travis Head and Washington Sundar in the brand-new Sunrisers Hyderabad Jersey. The promo also catches glimpses of Heinrich Klaasen.

SRH look for redemption in IPL 2024:

Since their debut in the IPL in 2013, Sunrisers Hyderabad has had a rollercoaster journey. They enjoyed a fruitful period between 2016 and 2020, reaching the playoffs five times consecutively. Their pinnacle moment came in 2016 when they clinched the title, and they were runners-up in 2018. However, their fortunes took a downturn afterwards, with consecutive last-place finishes in 2021 and 2023.

Ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, let us take a look at Sunrisers Hyderabad's (SRH) highest run chase in the IPL.

One of Sunrisers’ strengths lies in their overseas players, boasting the best contingent in the league. However, balancing the team with four overseas players can be challenging. Captain Cummins is a certain starter, along with Klaasen and Markram. This leaves room for just one among Head, Hasaranga, Jansen, Phillips, and Farooqi.

The team’s reliance on overseas talent highlights a potential weakness in the Indian all-rounder department. With only Shahbaz and Sundar serving as genuine all-rounders, the team may face challenges if they opt for Cummins, Klaasen, Markram, and Head in the playing XI. The inclusion of Abhishek, who provides some bowling options, might mitigate this issue to some extent.
